I am interested in Victron equipment and camping. I wanted efficient equipment. I invested in two Fluke Meters that measure watts, volts, amps, power factor etc accurate to 0.1% accuracy. My efficiency measurements , watts in, watts out, for Victron Battery chargers were disappointing, and nowhere near spec. Example Multiplus 1600 charging at 50 Amps, 75.5% efficiency, Power factor 0.998 (good) Centaur 40A battery charger, 76.8% at 40 amps ( 707 watts in at 230v 543 watts out, ) Power factor 0.980 (good) Blue smart 30 amp was better, 448 watts in, 390 watts out, 0.997 power factor, 89% efficient: the 25 amp blue smart IP (no fan) 374 watts in and 334 watts out, 89% efficient, power factor 0.999 Efficiency is important if you are are running off a generator and don't want to waste power.

Should be a 48v system with a boost converter from 12v to 48v to charge the battery, and 48v solar and generator. Far too much power draw on 12v efficieny will be 60%

Hello. In the case of 8 lithium batteries 100 amps each, total 800 amps, what would be the recommended BMS? 500 or 1000? I would also need 2x Distributors for the batteries, right? Is it possible to use the M8 distributors for this bateries with the BMS 1000 (M10)? thanks !!

Very nice surroundings and location ! Setup you could not wish for more ! My only concern it is a landslide as there no soil or Barrier protection! Would not be for me . But the idea is nice .

Great setup. Nice location for a suntracker however maybe high winds could be limiting factor here.

I have a new SmartShunt IP65 installed and synchronized to my Dakota Li 12v 100ah battery after a full charge. The shunt is reporting the current voltage at 13.3 (verified with a multimeter). In the VictronConnect App, my Charged Voltage (per the manufacturer) is 13.2 volts, with a discharge floor of 10%, tail current set to 2%, and the peukert set to 1.05. I am correctly wired. While under load, the app appears to report correctly. However, after a short period of time off load, the app will reset the SOC back to 100% and the ah consumed to 0. This is a new battery. It's being used with a trolling motor, and after a recent trip i used 7ah. While the main screen reads 100% and no ah consumed, the history does show that i've been using ah's. Is it possible that the relaxation period where the voltage is boosted responsible for resetting the SOC and ah consumed?

Since I can't change the existing system, what can I do so that it doesn't work at such high Amber's? Unless you suggest something better. (Note) when my shund burned out , it was only 570 amber, that is, not that high. I think the fuse it has inside the shunt is not that good compared to the classic big fuses. Hello, my name is George and I live in the middle east. As you can understand the temperatures are very high. I have a standalone 24volt system and about 9000watts of solar power. My problem is that my sund 1000 amber has burned twice. Where I live I have sudden changes of sun and clouds. When it's cloudy and I have a lot of consumption the generator turns on, but when the sun comes back again and the batteries are empty, the generator continues to work resulting in a lot of Amber's.

That's only 102kw of battery for all that solar and system! That's way undersize! A simple home system has at least 30kw!

which energy meter do i use when i connect 12 x 15kva multiplus 2, and split them 4 in parallel. please assist because the ET340 can measure 65A per phase. estimated current per phase will be 200A per phase

We use Victorn for our remote location of our bees to watch on camera. One day would love to have the whole thing be on Victron and work with the fact we have 250 Pecan trees with bee hives and other things.

When I installed my Multiplus 2 inverters I put at least 10cm space between them for cooling, as it states in the manual.

Quite a weak episode, from narative to technical solution/complexity. I hope it was just a lemon to fill some gap.

Brutal!

In my installation I have PV on the AC side, a normal grid tied system using Enphase micro-inverters. This meter allows the multiplus to see the PV power exporting to the grid, and then charge the batteries based on excess available power. Without this meter, it wouldn't see the PV and I had to use a scheduled charge. This really makes the ESS work how it should!

How do u connect it to 2 batteries mines not reading with the shunt properly

Hi, are there any plans to write a "demo" program for victron so one can build a virtual victron system and prove your calculations to a customer before spending a cent on equipment?

Completely unrelated to the video, but are there any updates regarding a lithium power station? (As a competitor to Bluetti, EcoFlow, Jackery etc) I know that Victron is currently planning/designing a LPS, but I haven't heard any news about it in 2024. Great video as always!

What provisions have been designed to mitigate the possibility of thermal runaway in ageing lithium batteries. Ventilation , etc. This is in effect placing customers in a BESS box with the batteries under them. As marine engineer and commercial surveyor myself. I would not be this signing off. With batteries of even wet flood lead acid types to be in public areas. Under the cabin sole. (Floor)
